My Revised Covid Protocol

Updated: Apr 3

Of course, we've all heard about how deadly covid is, and that's true for those with underlying health conditions, but for most of humanity, covid is not fatal. It can easily be treated in the comfort of your own home with herbal remedies, especially now that it has mutated into weaker variants and subvariants.

I originally got covid at the end of August 2021. I blogged in-depth about my first experience and the original all-natural protocol I used to recover from the comfort of my own home. If you follow me on Facebook, you probably know I tested positive again on August 1, 2022. I figured I would share my second experience, which was much different than my first. I also thought it would be the perfect opportunity to update my all-natural protocol.

My Covid Timeline

My Covid Timeline

July 28

Symptoms presented as what seemed to be tonsillitis. Red, swollen tonsils, sore throat, painful swallowing, scratchy voice, neck pain, and mild headache. I had no fever, but my temperature was slightly elevated at 98ºF (my base temperature is a degree lower than average). My heart rate ranged between 70-80 BPM. I started taking extra Elderberry Elixir (I increased my 1 dropper per day to 2 droppers per day) while adding Cough-B-Gone and Herbal Throat Spray as needed aside from my normal immune-boosting regimen (Vegan Vitamin D3 Spray, Liquid Ionic Zinc, and Immune-Aid Vitamin C Capsules).

July 29

All symptoms persisted. White patches appeared on my tonsils. Low-grade fever started at 99°F (my 100°F). My heart rate ranged between 49-144 BPM. At this time, I added Immune-Biotic and Oil of Oregano Capsules to my regimen because I was treating it as if I had an infection/tonsillitis.

July 30

After two days of persistent symptoms, sinus pain developed. New symptoms included severe jaw pain and sinus headache. I presumed the tonsil swelling resulted in a mucous blockage leading to a sinus infection. My heart rate ranged between 79-144 BPM. I increased my daily Sinus Saver from 1 dropper per day to 2 droppers as needed. I also started using Xlear Nasal Spray as needed.

July 31

Throat pain persisted but was not as bad. Jaw pain continued, and sneezing started. Mucous wouldn’t stop producing, resulting in the use of half a box of tissues. My heart rate ranged between 50-117 BPM. By the end of the evening, tooth pain started (again, assumed from sinus pressure). I added Teeth Tamer to the regimen as needed.

August 1

Throat pain barely presented upon waking up. My entire face was puffy, and tooth pain was intense. My gums were swollen. Mucous continued to produce. My nose was sensitive to the touch due to excessive tissue use. My heart rate ranged between 66-94 BPM. I tested for covid and was positive, so my regimen changed. I added Pain Potion, Anti-Inflammatory, Anxiety Calm Oil (Formula P), and Feel Better Fast as needed.

August 2

Throat pain subsided, but sinus pain continued. Mucous continued to produce, but much less tissue use occurred. Respiratory symptoms started, and my oxygen dropped as low as 91% at times. My heart rate ranged between 56-113 BPM. The familiar feeling of an elephant sitting on my chest emerged, just like the first time I had covid. I started my all-natural nebulizer protocol. I also added Respiratory Health Herbal Blend, Olloïs Carbo Vegetabilis 30C, and Eucalyptus Thyme & Mullein Leaf Tea as needed.

August 3

Mucous production was nearly absent, resulting in a faint sinus headache. Respiratory issues continued, and my oxygen dropped as low as 90% at times. My heart rate ranged between 64-113 BPM. I continued the majority of my protocol but discontinued Teeth Tamer and Herbal Throat Spray.

August 4

Sinus issues were resolved completely, so I discontinued Sinus Saver, Pain Potion, Anti-Inflammatory, and Anxiety Calm Oil (Formula P). Respiratory issues continued and worsened. My oxygen was as low as 84% at times. My heart rate ranged between 64-132 BPM. I continued My Nebulizer Protocol, Respiratory Health Herbal Blend, Olloïs Carbo Vegetabilis 30C, and Eucalyptus Thyme & Mullein Leaf Tea as needed.

August 5

Respiratory issues improved drastically, but oxygen still fell as low as 92% at times. I did not need to use My Nebulizer Protocol. I only had one cup of Eucalyptus Thyme & Mullein Leaf Tea and used Respiratory Health Herbal Blend once and Olloïs Carbo Vegetabilis 30C twice. My heart rate ranged between 59-104 BPM.

August 6

All respiratory issues improved. although my oxygen levels were still a little lower than usual, falling as low as 94%, I did not need to use My Nebulizer Protocol. I also didn't drink Eucalyptus Thyme & Mullein Leaf Tea or use Respiratory Health Herbal Blend and Olloïs Carbo Vegetabilis 30C. My heart rate ranged between 64-113 BPM.

I'd like to note that I also consumed roughly 2-3 cups of pineapple juice per day. Of course, I was responsible and didn't leave my house while covid positive. I used this opportunity to take advantage of the free first delivery promotion from Instacart to receive groceries within an hour of placing my order. It was fast, convenient, and ridiculously easy to use.

My Revised Covid Protocol

Many people in the natural community are fixated on Doris Loh's protocol to supplement melatonin for covid. From what I can see, Doris Loh had no previous research before her hyper-focus on melatonin, which started in 2021. Doris was a concert pianist with no self-study background in health. Doris is not a health practitioner and has no history in health. In fact, her protocols specifically say they should NOT be taken as medical advice. Doris claims to be doing "peer-reviewed" research, but none of her “research” is backed by science (1). She has no sources, and after endless searching through research databases, I could not find studies to support her claims–actually, quite the contrary.

I don't believe in that method, so I want to explain why I recommend each product within my protocol, backed by science, and allow you, the reader, to make an informed decision. If you'd like to skip to my protocol graphic, formatted for easy printing, click here. Just remember, these recommendations are a baseline and can be used more or less frequently depending on independent needs. What worked for me may not be perfect for you, and these recommendations have not been evaluated by the FDA.

Earthley’s Elderberry Elixir

Earthley’s Elderberry Elixir is great for immunity boosting. Elderberry by itself is known for so many health benefits, such as being rich in antioxidants, the potential to improve cold and flu symptoms, and so much more. To learn more regarding The Benefits of Elderberries, click here. Elderberry Elixir also has astragalus root, a general immune booster that just so happens to help protect the body from stress (2), and mullein, which has anti-bacterial and respiratory-supporting properties (3,4). Elderberry Elixir also contains ginger, which can help relieve nausea and fight infections (5), and cloves, which have anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, while also providing relief for pain and inflammation and promoting overall wellness (6).

MaryRuth’s Vegan Vitamin D3 Spray

MaryRuth’s Vitamin D3 Spray aids in immunity-boosting effects to help with fighting off covid. Studies have found that the implications of vitamin D deficiency on the immune system have become more apparent in recent years. In the context of vitamin D deficiency, there appears to be an increased susceptibility to infection and a diathesis in a genetically susceptible host to autoimmunity (7). Not to mention, according to an article published by The Spanish Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology, vitamin D is necessary for the prevention and treatment of covid-19 (8).

MaryRuth’s Liquid Ionic Zinc

MaryRuth’s Liquid Ionic Zinc helped me regain my sense of smell and taste during the first round of covid and helped boost my immune system the second time. Studies have shown that smell and taste alteration in covid may reflect a zinc deficiency (9). Studies have found that zinc directly affects multiple aspects of the immune system, and zinc deficiency can generate inflammatory cytokines (10).

Earthley’s Immune-Aid Vitamin C Capsules

Earthley's Immune-Aid Vitamin C Capsules are great for the immune system thanks to the orange peel powder, which is high in vitamin C and reduces the risk of disease associated with aging (11). Not to mention, orange peel has nearly 3x more vitamin C than the inner fruit (12). Immune-Aid Vitamin C also has camu camu, which is rich in vitamin C (13), and acerola berry powder, which is also high in vitamin C, has antioxidant and anti-aging properties (14). Taking vitamin C is very important when infected with covid because it's a powerful antioxidant with many health benefits like:

  • Reduces your risk of chronic disease

  • May help manage high blood pressure

  • May lower your risk of heart disease

  • May reduce blood uric acid levels and help prevent gout attacks

  • Helps prevent iron deficiency

  • Boosts immunity

  • Protects your memory and thinking as you age (15)

But even more importantly, vitamin C has been documented to aid covid patients with sepsis making ‘remarkable’ recovery following megadosing (16).

Earthley’s Feel Better Fast

Earthley's Feel Better Fast is great to help keep fevers in a safe range, potentially lowering them and aiding with symptoms associated with the fever. Fever reduction is possible thanks to herbs like elderflower, which provide immune and respiratory support while also helping fight fevers naturally (17). It's important to understand that elderflower doesn't lower the fever but can help it from getting too high or uncomfortable. Feel Better Fast also has cinnamon, anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties (18), and fennel seed, which soothes upset tummies, gas, bloating, and other digestive distress while also helping to ease congestion and fevers (19). Feel Better Fast also contains echinacea, which gently and naturally boosts the immune system (20), and astragalus root, an all-around immune-supporting herb (21).

Earthley's Immune-Biotic

Earthley's Immune-Biotic uses immune-supporting herbs to give your body a jump start to fight off germs like echinacea root, which naturally supports the entire immune system (22), and elderflower, which is used for its rich content of antioxidants and benefits in promoting whole-body health (23). Immune-Biotic also has astragalus root, a potent antioxidant, a natural inflammation inhibitor (24), and calendula, which is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory (25). Lastly, Immune-Biotic contains dandelion root, which balances blood sugar, its anti-bacterial characteristics, and so much more (26). To learn more regarding The Benefits of Dandelion, click here.

Earthley's Sinus Saver

Earthley's Sinus Saver is great for sinus support due to combining nettle, elderberry, turmeric, black pepper, and dandelion root in a base of alcohol to extract their health-supporting properties. Nettle is rich in vitamins and minerals and has anti-inflammatory properties (27). Elderberry helps to reduce stuffy nose symptoms while modulating inflammation (28,29). Turmeric is highly antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-fungal properties while protecting and strengthening the liver (30). Black Pepper has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties (31). Dandelion root is rich in antioxidants and supports healthy blood pressure (32,33).

Earthley’s Pain Potion

Earthley’s Pain Potion has meadowsweet, which is a multi-use herb, great for anti-inflammation, pain, and even relieving fevers (34), as well as mullein leaf, which along with being an effective anti-bacterial, can best be used to relax muscles and soothe related pain (35). Pain Potion also contains dandelion root, which is a powerful antioxidant and can also promote healthy blood sugar levels (36), as well as peppermint leaf, which supports liver and lung health, making it easier for your body to absorb and use the natural relief in this tincture (37,38). Lastly, turmeric is a part of Pain Potion, which is excellent for reducing inflammation and much more (39). To learn more regarding The Benefits of Turmeric, click here.

Earthley’s Anxiety Calm Oil (Formula P)

Earthley's Anxiety Calm Oil (Formula P) is a CBD oil formulated with 600 mg of pure-spectrum CBD in a hemp seed oil base for the full medicinal benefits of cannabis without the high. Since Anxiety Calm Oil (Formula P) is CBD, it's fantastic for pain, inflammation, sleep, and others associated with covid-19 symptoms. Earthley’s Anti-Inflammatory

Earthley's Anti-Inflammatory is excellent for inflammation thanks to the cinnamon and orange peel, which both have anti-inflammatory properties (40,41). Anti-Inflammatory also has echinacea, which helps with pain relief and boosts the immune system (42), and motherwort, which helps modulate inflammation and can help with pain relief (43). Remember, covid attacks inflammation markers (44), so you want to be sure to keep inflammation controlled.

Earthley’s Cough-B-Gone

Earthley's Cough-B-Gone is excellent for respiratory support thanks to the herb mullein, which loosens and removes excess mucus in the respiratory system while also having anti-inflammatory properties, relaxing muscles, and relieving congestion (45). Cough-B-Gone also has Fenugreek, which has both antioxidant and antibacterial properties (46), and dandelion, which has many medical benefits such as being rich in antioxidants and the potential to boost your immune system. To learn more regarding The Benefits of Dandelion, click here.

Olloïs Carbo Vegetabilis 30C

Olloïs Carbo Vegetabilis 30C aided in the respiratory issues and the sensation of an elephant sitting on my chest. Carbo Vegetabilis is said to help in oxygen starvation, such as when a person with pneumonia needs to fan the space in front of their face to get enough air (47). According to PeaceHealth, this particular homeopathic remedy is beneficial for asthmatics, and they state:

This remedy may be indicated when a person feels weak or faint with a hollow sensation in the chest. Coughing jags can lead to gagging. The person may be very cold (especially hands and feet), yet feel a need for moving air, wanting to sit beside a fan or open window. Gas and digestive upset are also likely, and sitting up and burping offers some relief. Feeling worse in the evening, and worse from talking, eating, or lying down are other indications for this remedy (48).

Adanim Bio Eucalyptus Thyme & Mullein Leaf Tea

Adanim Bio Eucalyptus Thyme & Mullein Leaf Tea is exceptionally beneficial for respiratory support thanks to the herbs it features, like mullein leaf, which helps open the lungs, eases spasms, tightness, and cough, and soothes irritation and dryness (49). Adanim Bio Eucalyptus Thyme & Mullein Leaf Tea also contains thyme, which helps fight respiratory infections and is a natural expectorant that serves as an antiseptic and helps expulse mucus. It’s also good for soothing coughs and fighting nasal congestion and eucalyptus, which helps clear mucus and relieve inflammation (50).

Earthley's Herbal Throat Spray

Earthley's Herbal Throat Spray is infused with anti-viral herbs like lemon balm, peppermint, echinacea, mullein, and elderflower (51) to create a pleasant, sweet flavor that banishes sore throats naturally. Peppermint provides a gentle, numbing relief while the immune system gets the support it needs to recover from illness. Plus, mullein is great for respiratory support.

My Nebulizer Protocol

At the beginning of the covid pandemic, there was so much controversy surrounding natural nebulizing methods. Some people in the natural community were nebulizing colloidal silver, while others were nebulizing food-grade hydrogen peroxide. Personally, I am allergic to colloidal silver, so I went the hydrogen peroxide route.

I'd like to start by saying the mainstream narrative claims nebulizing hydrogen peroxide is dangerous, but scientific data begs to differ, and honestly, so do I.

Take a look at these studies, educate yourself further, and if this is the route you'd like to take, my protocol is designed to be less harsh than other protocols I tried.

My nebulizer protocol requires three things:

I chose to dilute my protocol because I found most protocols recommended food-grade hydrogen peroxide by itself. As an asthmatic, I found that protocol to be irritating to my sinuses and chest. I tried several dilution methods and found filling my 8 ml. capacity tank with 1 unit (5 ml.) of saline solution and then filling the remaining 3 ml of the tank capacity with food-grade hydrogen peroxide was most tolerable and still beneficial. Most protocols say that if the hydrogen peroxide is irritating, replace it with colloidal silver. Still, I am allergic to that, so I found a tolerable dilution for my needs.

Most protocols I've looked over recommend nebulizing for 10 minutes, 4x per day for active illness, and 1-2x per day for prevention. Personally, I used it as needed, as often as 6x per day.
